Sheweth
That Your Petr. by Indenture of Apprenticehood bearing date the
Sixth day of March 1720
was bound Apprentice
to
Simon Battey< no role >
of the
parish of St. Martins in the fields
in the County of Middlx
Jeweller
for the
Term and Space of Seven Years, and that in Consideration of the said
Simon Battey< no role >
's Learning your Petr. the Art of Jeweller, he Received of your
Petr. Unkle the Sum of Twenty and five pounds, and that the unkle
of your petr. was also to find your petr. during the said Apprenticehood
with Apparrell both Linnen and Woollen. but for as much as your Petr.
said Master is Absconded and gone away, and hath left no person to
Instruct your petr. in the said Art, nor any person to provide or find
your petr. with Sufficient Meat Drink Washing Lodging or any other
Necessarys, and for that He is now forced to be maintained at the charge
of His Relations.
Therefore your petr. most Humbly prays this Court
would be pleased to Appoint a Day some time this
present Genl. Quarter Sessions of the peace and to Order
that the said Simon Battey< no role >
His Master, and all other
parties Concern'd, may Attend this Court to shew Cause
why your petr. (for the Reasons herein before set forth)
should not be Discharged from his Said Apprentice
Hood.
And your petr. as in Duty Bound shall ever
