William Jeffrey< no role > of Hornsey in the County of Middx Hair Merchant maketh
Oath that he & severall other other Tennts. to Mrs. Christopher Joyner< no role > have reced a
great many abuses & hardships from Mr Thos. Joyner< no role > & his wife and that in
particular the sd. Thos. Joyner and his wife on or abt. the 13th. July last ordered board
to be put up wth. in a foot or two of this Depts. house whereby they not only stopt
up his lights but also a door that he had wch. went into a yard he always has
had ye use of for above Nineteen years past that the said boards are now
Standing to the great prejudice of this Dept. And this Dept. further saith that
upon askeing the sd. Mr. Thos's. wife why they were so malitions & vexations
agt. this Dept. answered that it was not agt. him but her brother his Land bord
and added further that there should not one of his Tents. live easyly under
him that she and her husband who was wth. her would be a continual
plague & torment to them all calling her brother a puppy & this Depont
a Vagabond & beggar and that She would erect an house of Office at
this Depts. Door & hers since laid a Dunghill within a little more than
a yard at this Depts. Door to his and his Familys great prejudice annoyatill
that the Sd. Mr. Thos. Joyner said then and at severall times since he
approved of wt. She did and that he would be governed by her And
this dept. further Saith that Mr. Thos. Joyners Carter drove his Cart
through the same and his damaged the Walls and houses of each
Side the Same.
