Masties. Justices of the Peace or any three of us to examine into the
truth of the matters contained in the Peticon of Thomas Ward< no role >

therein.

We hereby certifie That the Petitioner, by his assistance to
prevent the escapes of many Prisoners at the very great hazard
of his life, the Turnkey of the Said Prison being at the Same
time killd', did receive many wounds, for the cure of which,
We find the Sd. Petr is Still indebted the Sum of twelve pounds
Six Shilligs and four pence, which Said Sum, we are of opinion
he is unable to pay, his circumstances being very mean; And that
for his Signal Service to the County in oppossing Such an unusual

of his wounds for above two months, he ought to be allowd
