The humble peticon of John Wells< no role >
of the parish of St James Clerkenwell
in the said County

Sheweth

That at Easter last your Petitr was Chosew to serve the
Office of Scavenger for the Upper Liberty of St John Street
[..] Parish in the sd County

That your petitr hath Lived but a short time in the said
parade and Divers of your petitrs Neighbours who have
Lived many Yeares therein and are of farr better abilitys
then your petitr: that have not served the said Office
And for a Smuth as yor Petitr: being a poor man & having a
Sickly Wife to Mainteine Is not able to serve the said
Office

Your Petitr therefore humbly prays he
may be Discharged from the sd Office
and that some fitter person may be
Chosen in his Roome

And yor Petitr: shall ever prayer
