Upon complaint made unto this Court by Thomas
Potts
< no role > of the hamblett of Lyme house in this County
that he is over charged in the rates made for the
releife of the poor of the Sd hamblett & very much [..]
aggreived thereby, and that he hath sustained great
losses & is forced to be a Day-Labourer for the support
of himselfe & his family, and that he is not able to
pay the moneys assessed upon him in the sd rates,
and he therefore prayed to be releived in the
premisses; And It appear being to this Court by the
informacon of Thomas Frampton< no role > & Robert Dennett< no role >
Esqrs. two of her Maties. Justices of the peace for this
County inhabiting in or neare the sd hamblett that
they had examined into the circumstance & ability of the
said Thomas potts< no role > and conceived that he ought to stand charged withpay
noe more then twenty shillings [..] in the rate made
for the releife of the poor of the said hamblett & with
ten shillingsonly in the over rate ma [..]
releife of the said poor, This Court is of opinion to
mitigate the assessmts. charged on the said Thomas Potts< no role > in
the said rates And doth Order that the moneys charged on
him in the sd first menconed rate be reduced to the sume of twenty shillings
and that the moneys charged on him in the said over rate
be reduced to the sume of ten shillings
is to stand charged with those Sumes only in the
rates of which the Churchwarden & Overseers
the said hamblett & all persons concerned are [..]
to take notice
