Whereas by an Order of his Genal Quarter Session of ye peare feild
for ye County of Middx upon Monday wch was fifth day of July last
it was referred to us whose hands are here to Set, two of her Maties:.
Justices of ye peace for ye sd County, & to John Crosbie< no role > & Benjamin
Hilton< no role > Esqr: two other of her Maties: Justices of ye peace for ye st
County, or any two of us, to Sumon before us ye Churchwardens
& Overseers of ye poor of ye Parish of St: Giles Wthout Cripplegate in
ye sd County, & to examin into ye hath of ye Complt: in ye Peticon of
Hanna Archer< no role > of ye parish aforesd wth whereby she sets forth that she is
[..] over rated towards Releife of ye poor of ye sd parish & prays
Releife Inpursuance of wch Reference We whose hands are here to set
did by Order under our hands appoint as will ye sd ChurchWardens
& Overseers of ye poor as also ye Petr: to attend us this day all ye time &
place in ye sd Order mencon'd; & ye sd Petr: appear accordingly
But ye sd ChurchWardens & Overseers did not appear, tho they
had been Sumou'd so to do: But Several of ye antiout & Cheife
Inhitants of ye sd parish appear'd in there behalf: and now upon
hearing all party's & what could be alledg'd on either side, It
appearing into us That by an order of ye Genal Quarter Session of
ye peace held for this County upon ye third day of July wch [..] was in ye year
four Lord One thousand Seven hundred & Six ye sd Petr: then Rate of
Two pence p look was reduced to One penny P week towards the
Releife of ye poor of ye sd Parish, & that ye Petr: Stilld wills in ye [..]
Same house she did then, & is now in no better ability than she was
then We are of opinion That ye Petr: is overcharg'd towards ye & Releife
of ye sd Poor, & do therefore Order That Petr: prsent Rate Three
half pence p week be, & it is her by wth ye [..] of ye sd Inhaitants redused to One penny P week
wth wch sume of One penny & week only ye petr: is to stand charg'd in ye
rate already made for Releif of ye poor of ye sd pish Where of you &. every
of you are requr'd to take Notice. Dated this 4th day of Septr ate Dui 1708
