The Exam and Confession of Thomas
Smith

one of her Majties: Justices of he peace for the
County.

Confesseth and saith, that she fine Counter fitt shillings and me
Counter fitt six pence, found and taken in the House wheare [..]
This Examt was [..] Last, night (viz, in newtners Street in the
parish of St Gyles's the feilds in the sd County, was made
by Richard [..] his Lodgeing in a Garrett at the
signe of the Bunch of Grapes and Crowne in [..]
in the sd parish [..] sd Counter fitt mony was made in
Two Iron Flask's Sand and [..] Red Oaker by him the sd
Richard Dove< no role > and one Ann Martin< no role > being present
who Blew the Bellows, she sd Richard Dove< no role > , haveing
Over perswaded this Examt, to be aideing and assisting
him and the said Ann Martin< no role > , in makeing the sd mony
is being about Three mounth, since, and at which him
[..] ere was made about forty Shillings of the sd
Counterfitt; mony in Shillings [..] pences
And this Examt further Confesseth that the fine then
and six pence about is part of the Counter fitt
mony made as a above, And w [..] offered by the sd
Richard Dove< no role > in presence of this Examt, to one Nicklas
Cooper
< no role > to put off but the sd Cooper seing it to be
naught refused it and gave it his this Examt which
was on Satturday Last at the signe of the swan
A victuling [..] in the sd Lane being about Tweleve
or one A Clock of hours
