WHERE AS Complaint hath been made unto Us, whose Hands and
Seals are hereunto Set, Two ofherMajesties Justices of the
Peace of theCounty of Middx
(Quorum unus) by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Precinct of St. Catherines in the said County, that
Mary Johnson< no role > a Singlewoman hath
lately come into the Said [..] Pcinctendeavouring to Settle
herselfthere, without giving Notice in Writing to the Said
Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any one of them of the
House ofherabode in the Said [..] Pcinctaccording to
the Statute in that Case made and provided; And thatthe Said
Mary Johnson< no role > is
likely to become chargeable to the Said [..] PrcinctAnd whereas it appeareth
unto Us the Said Justices, upon the Oath of the SaidMary Johnson< no role >
thatShe waslast legally Settled in the Parish of St: Bottolph
without Aldgate within the Freedom of the Citty of London
where She was borne & Lived all her life tyme till
abt: Seaven yeares ago, And has gained noe other Legall Settlemt Since
These are therefore inherMajesties Name Straitly to Charge and Com
mand you, and every of you, forthwith, upon Sight hereof, to remove and
Convey the SaidMary Johnson< no role > from the Said Prcinct of
St: Catharines to the said Pish of St: Bottolph with: Aldgate
and deliverherunto the Church-Wardens, and Overseers of the
Poor there, who are hereby required to provide forher
according to Law: Hereof fail not at your Perils. Given under our Hands
and Seals, theTwenty Seaventhlay ofAprill Anno Dui 1702
