Clare Markett widdow taken before me Ralph Mar [..]
Esqr . this first day of November Anno Din 1699

Who upon her Oath Saith that this Morning William Marvell< no role >
and Thomas Gash< no role > the Psons now present (as they call themselves
came into her Shopp in Clare Street in the parish of St. Clement
Danes pretending to buy Stockings, The being a hosier , but bought
none, and Stole from out of her Said Shopp four paire of way
Stockings which lost her first penny John Shillings and Ten [..]
pence or there abouts, three paire of which the possitie [..]
Owner, and [..] erily becomes, the fourth to be here, two paire upon whe [..]
was found upon the said Marvell & the other two paire & pon the
said Gash by William Kendrick< no role > & Constable of the parish of St
Mary Le Savoy , upon Search after another Felony, which [..]
the said Marvell and Gash are charged with to have Comitted this
Same Morning.

These Examinant being duely Examined say and Confess that this
Morning they were in the shopp of Elizabeth moore< no role > above said bus
tooke nothing from thence, and being asked how they came by the
four paire of Stocking found upon them as above said, these
Marvell says that her received his two paire from Gash, and
said that he bought them of one Dixon in St. John Street [..]
disown'e he gane the said two paire to Marvell.
