Forasmuch as Complaint hath been made unto us his
maties: Justices of the Peace for this County Unus Quoris. by the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor for the Parish of Hanwell
in this County; That Mary Broadway< no role > a female child about a years
of age is lately come into the said Parish & is a psent chargeable there [..]
And Whereas it appeareth unto us by the Oath of Hanah< no role > now the
wife of Richard Ser< no role > a private Souldier, formerly the Wife of Ben-
Jamin Broadway
< no role > a Ropemaker (who Served his Apprentyship for
7 yeares with one Mr: Terry now or late in the Parish of
Rotherith als Redriffe in the County of Surry Ropemaker ) that
her Said daughter Mary Broadway< no role > was borne in the Said
Parish of Redriffe , where her said Husband Ben: Broadway< no role >
had his last legall Settlement as afforesaid & therefore wee conceive
She ought to be there maintained her said Mother being disabled
by Sickness & poverty

These are therefore in his Maties: Name Straitly to Charge & Command you
and every of you forthwith upon Sight hereof to Remove and Convey the
Said Mary Broadway< no role > from the said Parish of Hanwell the next and
Directest way to the Said Parish of Rotherith als Redriffe in the County
of Surry and Deliver her unto the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor
there, who are hereby required to provide for her according to Law.
Hereof fail not at your Perills Given under our Hands & Seales the
Eighth day of February in the tenth Yeare of the Reigne of William the
Third King over England Scotland Etc: Annoq Dom 1698.
