The Excon of William Sampson< no role > of
Spittlefields Blacksmith taken this 21st
day of May Anno dui 1698.

This Examt: being charged with feloniously
taking & stealing sixty yards of shalloon from one
Thomas Silvester< no role > ) sayth that he did not steale the
said sixty yards of shalloon Butt yt he walking in
the tenters to refuesh himselfe hapned to passe by the
sd shalloon which Laythen on the ground att the same
tyme at the said [..] as the said Silvester was there
hard by att seined flame which the said Silvester seeing supposed yt
the Geamt: did take downe with an Intent to
steale butt this Geamt: sayth he did nott
and yttheall the sd shalloone was Lay on
the ground before he Came there & yt how
Itt Came downe he knowell nott And farther
he sayth nott.
