WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto Us, whose Hands
and Seals are hereunto set, Two ofHisMajesties Justices of
the Peace of theCounty of Middx [..]
(Quoram unus) by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St. Martins in the Feilds in the said County, that
Ralph Scott< no role > and Richard Scott< no role > two of the Children of Ralph
Scott
< no role > a Brewers Servant & of Elizabeth Scott< no role > his wife decd

arelately come into the said Parish, endeavouring to settle
themselvesthere, without giving Notice in Writing to the said
Church-Wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, or any one of them of the
House oftheirabode in the said Parish, according to
the Statute in that Case made and provided; And thatthe said Ralph
Scott
< no role > Janr. & Richard Scott< no role > are very
likely to become chargeable to the said Parish; And whereas it appeareth
unto Us the said Justices upon the Oath ofthe saidMary [..]

thatthese two Children werelast legally settled in the Parish of St. Olaves South
warke in the County of Surry the said Ralph Scott< no role > the father he
having been an hired Servant for abt. three yeares & appeares of the
Kings head Browhouse in Horseley Downe in [..] Pish [..]
these foure Moneths last & hath not had any legall Settlemt. [..]

These are thereforeHisMajesties Name straitly to Charge and Com-
mand you and every of you, forthwith upon tight hereof to remove and
convey the saidtwo Children Ralph< no role > & Richard Scott< no role >
from the said Parish ofSt. Martins & in ye Feilds in the said County, and fo from
Constable to Constable, the next and directest in the way to the saidPish of St.
Olave Southwarke in the County of Surry aforemenconed
and deliverthemunto the Church Wardens, and Overseers of the
Poor there, who are hereby required to provide forthem
according to Law: Hereof fail not at your Perils. Given under our Hands
and Seals, theSecondday ofNovember 1697 Annoqs RRs
