To the Right Worsppl. his Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Midds.

The humble Peticon of the Churchwardens & other Inhabitants
of the parish of Fryern Barnet in the Said County.

Sheweth

That at a Court Leet holden for the Mannor of Fryern Barnet under the Deane and
Chapter of St. Paul the 20th of May Last Mr. John Nicholls< no role > was then elected to Serve
the Office of Constable for the Said parish for the yeare ensueing, whereupon
applicacon was made by severall of the said Inhabitants to the Steward of the said Mannor
for granting his Warrant in order to Sweare the said Mr. John Nicholls< no role > into the said
Office of Constable Who refusing to grant such Warrant, Mr. Serjeant Bonython
One of his Maties Justices of the Peace for this County did without the knowledge of
the said Inhabitants cause one Robert Newman< no role > to be Swerne into the said Office of
Constable in the place & Stead of the said Mr. Nicholls.

That the said Robert Newman< no role > being very poore & much indicted to divers persons
hath Since absconded himselfe from his habitacon Soe that he cannot execute the Said
Office of Constable.

Your Petrs. therefore most humbly pray your Worspps to be
pleased to Order that the Said Mr. John Nicholls< no role > may be
compelled to Serve the said Office of Constable for the sd parish
for the yeare ensueing.
