To the worshipfull his Maties. Justices of the Peace for the County of Midd
The humble Peticonr of the Church Wardens & Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Enfeild in the said County of Midd

Sheweth

That the Church Wardens & Overseers of Poor of the Parish of Edmonton
in the said County having made Complaint unto Francis Tyssen< no role > & Hugh
Smithson< no role > Esqrs two of his Maties. Justices of the Peace for this County That
John Hicks< no role > his wife & three Children were then lately come into the said
Parish of Edmonton endeavoring to Settle themselves there wthout giving
notice in writing to the said Church Wardens or Overseers of the Poor or any
one of them of the house of their last abode in the said Parish according to
the Statute in that Case made & Pvided & that they were likely to become
Chargeable to the said Parish they the said two Justices Issued forth their
Warrt. dat 13o. Apr 1697 . to removd & convey the said John Hicks< no role > his wife &
Children from the said Parish of Edmonton to the said Parish of Enfeild as being
the Place of the last legall Settlmt. of the said John Hicks< no role > there as an Inhitant
thereof By virtue where of on the 20th of Aprill last Mary< no role > the Sd wife of the said
John Hicks< no role > & the Sd three Children were removed from Edmonton to Enfeild.

Yor Petr being well able to made it appeare that the last legall Settlemt.
of the said John Hicks< no role > his wife & Children was in the Parish of Edmonton
& yet in the Parish of Enfeild And finding themselves agreived do appeal to
Yor Worshipps at this Genall Sessions of the Peace Humbly praying Yor Worspps.
to appoint a certaine time to heare & determine this matter not doubting but
that thereupon Yor Worshipps will receive yor Petr & award them as well their
Charges occaconed by their said removall as also such Costs at to yor Worspps.
