Whereas at a Generall Quarter Sessions of the peace
held at Hickshall in St. John Street in the County of Middx upon
Monday the Sixth day of July last past Richard Field< no role > of the
Parish of Enfield in the County of Middx, Petitioned the
Honourable Court thereby Shewing that he hath Served the
Office of Constable for Bulls Cross Quarter in the Said
Parish of Enfield for the Space of one whole Yeare and upwards
and that he hath disbursted and expended in passing and releiving
Cripples, Vagrants and other Impotent persons, passed to & through
the Said Parish the sum of fifteene pounds, and it was thought
fitt and ordered by the Said Court that it be and was referred to
Sr. John Wolstenholme< no role > Bart. Nicholas Raynton< no role > , and & Joshua
Galliard< no role > Esqr. three of his Maties Justices of the peace for the
Said County or any two of them to Inspect, examine ans alowe the
Petitioners Accompts, or otherwise as to the said Justices or any two
of them Shall Seeme meet, Now there are to Certify all these
Who me if may corcerne that we whose hands are hereunto suffi [..]
two of his Maties Said Justices, have caused a vesetray to be [..]
and with the Officers and Parishoners then and there [..]
Viewed and examined the Said Accompts, and finds that he hath
received money of other Constables, and that he carryed them with
passes to the next Constable within the Said Parish, ans did not
Carry them through and discharge the Said Parish of Enfield , and
we finde his Accompts to be Illegall and faulse, and that he hath
not done according to Law, Therefore we do not alowe any of them
but do dismiss him Wittness our hands the 5th. day of Decemb, Anno
Com. 1696.
