Cordwainer maketh Oath That in or about July last past he this
Depont together with Morgan Pierce< no role > & Joseph Chubbuck< no role > & others
becoming Bayl in a Recognizance taken before Hugh Chamberlaine< no role >
Esqr. a Justice of peace in Middx For the appearance of the
Defendts above named at the next then ensuring Sessions of Oyer
& Terminer to be held for the said County of Middx (as this Dept.
remembers He this Dept. did at the said then next ensuing
Sessions attend in or about the Cort during the whole Sessions
And finding then nor Indictmt. found nor other presecucon made
against the said Defendts or any of them, this Dept. & the said
other Bayl doubted not but their Recognizance was discharged
And this Dept. further maketh oath That being since Enformed
by one Mr. Platt an Agent at Law that there might afterwards
prosecucon agt. the said Defts. upon the matter of their being bound
over as aforesaid Whereby damage might accrew to this Dept & the
said other Bayl he this Dept. & the said Pierce & Chubbuck did
imediately employ the said Mr. Platt to take care thereof Whoe finding
there was afterwards an Indictmt. for high Treason found agt. the
said Defendts. & that they absconded the themselves this Dept. & the said
Pierce & Chubbuck did also employ one Bonner a Thieftaker to a
apprehend the said Defendts Whereby this Dept. & the other Bayl
have been putt to very great charges & are informed that one of the
said Defendts lyed privily about London & that the other two are in
the County after whome diligent Pursuit is made at the charge of
this Dept. & the said Pierce & Chubbuck Soe that tis not feared but in a
short time all the said Defts will be taken & delivered into the hands of
Justice
