The Order of Thomas Smith< no role > Esqr : and William Withers< no role > Esqr : Two of his Majiztice
Justices of peace for the said County of Middlesex (Quard vuns) and Inhabitinge
next unto the Lumits of the parish Church of St James Clerkenwell in the said
County; Made their Twenty Sixth day of November iin the Yeare of our Lord 1695
as well forthe releife of the aforesaid parish as alsoe for the maintenance and
keepeinge a female Bastard child Christned by the name of Esther; begothen on the
body of and Ann Rasch< no role > This name instance is in set 2358. of the said parish widowe and borne in the Said parish on the
Twenty Seventh day of September Lastpasty which said female Bastard child
is very Likely to become chargeable to the said parish

Wee the said Justices, haveinge upon the Compth. of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Said
parish and alsoe accordinge to the Forme of the Statute in that Case made and provided: taken upon us
the heareinge and Examinacon of the said Cause and duly Consideringe the First Examinacon and
Consession of the said Ann Rash< no role > taken the Sixteenth day of November Justant before and of us upon
oathe as alsoe [..] her Examinacon and Confession now before both of us upon oath that Simon Steward< no role >
of the Parish of St James Clerkenwell aforesaid Groser is the only and true father of the said female
Bastard child and alsoe upon the Confession of the said Simon Steward< no role > how before us. That he had
Three severall times the Casuall knowledge of her body in the dwellinge house of Josiah Stewards< no role > his
Brother upon Clerkenwell Greene in the Parish of St: James Clerkenwell aforesaid once in the Shoppe
and twice in a roome one paire of staires in the said house And Wee doe finde by divers other
Goods Circumstances that the said Simon Steward< no role > is the only and true Father of the said Female
Bastard child

Wee therefore doe Adjudge him the Said Simon Steward< no role > to be the only Father of the said Females Bastard child
And doe hereby Order him the said Simon Steward< no role > to pay or Cause to be paid weekly and every
week form the day of the date hereof unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor for that
[..] parish of St. James Clerknwell and their [..] for the [..]
for [..] towards the maintenance bringing [..]

[..] the said Simon Steward< no role > [..]
[..] Sum [..] as shall [..]
[..] by Edasan or [..] danes of the said Female Bastard child And Lastly [..]
Simon Stewards to give Suficient Security to the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the [..]
for the said parish of St: James Clerkenwell that the said, Female Bastard child shall noe become
chargeable to the Said Parish and alsoe for the due performante of this our Order Given Order our
