The Examination of Jone
Bayley
< no role > wife of Ralph Bayley< no role >
taken the 23rd day of May 1695

That the said Thomas Bayley< no role > used to come to their
house and was in the Roome where the Clippings
were found this Morning and was but newly
gon before the Constable came,
She does not owne that she Knowes how
the Clippings and things as now produced came
there but does confess She Saw them taken
amongst Old Cloathes that were in the
Closet but refuses to owne that she did
Know how they were laid there [..] confesseth that her Brother did say he was not very well when
he came in, and did go upto lye
downe upon the Bed in the Roome
where the Closet is but cannot Say Certainly
how long he did Lye there

Ralph Bayley< no role > Said he is a Chaireman and that
his Brother Thomas< no role > has had the use of a Roome
& Closet in his house Some times but he
Said he went out by five a Clock and does not
Know that his Brother Thomas was in the
house this day,Sais he Knowes nothing of
the Clippings nor things found, nor has been
in the Closet for about three Weeks past
