The Information of John Lerrey< no role > of the Parish of St. Mary lslington
in the Sd County Labourer taken Upon Oath before James Cardrow< no role >
Esqr One of his Majties. Justices of the Peace for the sd County this
Twenty first Day of May Ano Dni 1695.

This Informant sayes that he San Rebecka Berry< no role > actually clipping & filing the
Current Coyne of this Kingdome both Halse Crownes & Shillings severall times
in the House of one Bartholomew Mumby< no role > in the Parish of St. James Clerkenwell
in the sd County Labourer about Two or Three Moneths Since
At which House one Edward Berry< no role > (Husband of the Sd Rebecka had taken a
Ground Roome divided from the Sd Houses by the yeare, in which room there
was neither Bedd nor Bedding nor any Convenience for Lodging, and that the
Sd Edwd. Berry< no role > & his Sd wife & one Priscilla< no role > often Frequented the Sd
Roome to which they had recourse both Day & night & all Houres in the night,
and that the Sd Edwd. Berry< no role > did convey away out of these Room Severall
Pariells of Clippings at Sunday & divers Times, This Informant farther sayes
that he has found severall pieces of Clippings both off of Halfe Crownes
shillings & Six Pences in the Sd roome when he Swept & she and the same
and that One night as this Informt. was coming home from Smithfield
about twelve of the Clock at night he mett the Sd Rebecka coming out of
the sd. roome, who prayd this Informt. to bring her over the Fields as far
as Sr. Jon. Old Castles, wth. at first this Informt. was unwilling to, but upon her
importunity he complyd to goe along wth. her and when they came to the
Carpe in the Cage the Sd Rebecka gare this Informt. a Bagg of money all newly clippt abt
the same of one Hundred pounds to the best of this Informts. Beliefe telling him
that the understood her House in Liquor Board street was a searching & prayd
him to carry the Sd Money back again to the Sd Mumby's which he accordingly
did, & when he came in he told Elizabeth Mumby< no role > (Wife of the Sd Bartholomew
Mumby that me are all undone me shall all be hang'd, Here is a Bagg of clipt
Money which the Sd Rebecka< no role > gave me & Prayd me to bring it here telling me
that she understood her House was a searching, & that this Informt. delivered the
Sd Bagg & Money to the Sd Eliz: Mumby< no role > who (where this Informt. Some
time after asked her for it) told him the had delivered it to the Sd Rebecka
