May it pleasure Yor Majie

In obedience to ye Majties Pleasure signified to me the second of
this month Thane Examined the Petition of the Inholders within
the Citty and Libertyes of Westminster & doe find that they
have Received no others then 6d the night for Each Horses Stay
of the Royal Regiment of Horse under the Comand of the
Earle of Oxford, Since the time that Regiment Did Duty all
Whitehall and that the Guards used to pay 8d As is Alleaged
in their Petition, But in Regard the Capts of the said Regiment
doe produce the discharges of their Landlords to the 5th of this
Instant Wherein they declare themselves fully satisfied
for the Quarters of their Respective Troopers I am humbly
of opinion there is no Reason to Leave back into what is
past, Tho Yor Majties have allowed and paid the said Regiment
8d a day Extraordenary. The better to Enable them to Comply all
the dearnesse of provissions in Towne, I can see no Reason why
for the time to come they, should not pay 8d of required, or be less
att Least to make the best bargains they can wth their severall
Landlords.

Which is most humbly Submitted
to yor Majtie this 7th September
1692 Geo: Clarke< no role >
