To the Right Worspll: their Maties Justices of the Peace for the
County of Midds.

The humble Peticon of Gerard Selbey< no role > of the
Hamlet of Wapping Whitchappell in the sd County.

Sheweth


That at Easter last your Peticoner was elected to Serve the office of
Scavenger in the said Hamlet for the yeare Ensueing.

That your Peticoner hath been a Lodyer in the dwelling house of one
William Great< no role > in the said Hamlet about three yeares Past and never
was a Housekeeper in the said Hamlet Neither hath there been at any
time any parish dutys taxed on your Peticoner Soe that he humbly
conceives himselfe not lyable to serve the said office.

Your Peticoner therefore most humbly Prays yor. Worpps
to be pleased to grant that he may be discharged from
serving the said Office and that the Inhabitants of the said
Hamlet may elect some other person to serve the same.

And Yor. Peticoner Shall ever Pray etc.
