Order concerning
the Painting of
the Great Dineing
Room at
Hicks hall
Etc
Whereas
John Jones< no role >
Painter
hath contracted to do
the Painters Work at the Sessions House called
Hicks hall
in St. John Street
in this County
according to an Estimate or Particular by him
Delivered in of the same for the Sume of Thirty
Seven Pounds and four pence Now Upon
Intimation given that it will be a great
Ornament to the Great Dineing Room of the
said Sessions House to have the Chimney peice
in the said Room and the Pictures of the late Sr.
Baptist Hicks< no role >

Founder of the said Sessions
House embellish'd in a decent and curious
manner as also to have the said Dineing Room
painted the doing of which not being included in
the said Contract will together with the Painters
Work first above mentioned exceed the said Sume
of Thirty Seven pounds and four pence This Court
is of Opinion that the said Chimney peice and
Pictures be embellished and that the said
Dineing Room be alsoe Painted And doth
thereupon Order that it be And It is hereby
recommended unto Sr.
Thomas Hewett< no role >

one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
of this
County to Order and direct the Embellishing of
the Chimney peice and Pictures aforesaid
and alsoe the said Dineing Room to be painted
in such manner as He shall think proper,
