"3d.. September 1798."

"The Chaplain also Reported That the behaviour of
"Joseph Burk's and John Smith< no role > two Persons under sentence
"of the Court of Kings Beach for Seditious practices has been
"for some time so indecent in the Chapel and their Declara-
"tions of the utter unbelief of the Supreme being at other
"times have been so frequent and unequivocal as to
"induce him to recommend it to the Governor no longer
"to require them to attend in the chapel.

"All which the Committee Submit Etc.
"Danl, Williams< no role > Chairman .

Resolved That the said Report be Received and
That a Copy thereof be sent to His Grace the Duke of
Portland One of His Majestys Principal Secretaries of
State and that the Chairman of the Session be requested
to Transmit the same. -

By adjournment same Day.

It was Ordered That it be referred to the Committee
appointed to Enquire into the Receipt and Expenditure of
the Butchers Meat and other Articles provided for the
Prisoners in the House of Correction and Also to Inspect the
General concerns of the Prisons belonging to this County
To inquire into the Deviations and Alterations that have
been made in the Original. Plan of the Governors House
at the New House of Correction , the Expence thereof and
how far the same are Consistent with the Security of
the Prison and that the said Committee do Report the
matters aforesaid with their Opinion thereon to the Court.

By adjournment same Day.

Ordered That the sum of Thirty pounds being the
usual Annual Allowance made to John Martin< no role > for his
Attendance as Session Beadle be Paid to him and that the
Clerk of the peace do issue an Order upon the Treasuer of this
County for the payment thereof.
