<p n="526">The Court having proceeded to enquire into the refractory<lb></lb>
behaviour which had been reported to have lately taken<lb></lb>
place amongst the Prisoners when in the Chapel at the<lb></lb>

<p n="527">The Governor of the House of Correction for the<lb></lb>

, begs leave to Report to the Court</p>
<p n="528">That on Friday September 9th. after Prayers were<lb></lb>
over the Men Prisoners in the Chapel to the number of<lb></lb>
90. refused to go out of Chapel until they had spoke to the<lb></lb>
<rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ171">Governor</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_occ171" type="occupation" value="Governor"></interp>
and behaved in a very rioteous and tamalteous<lb></lb>
manner and complained of being starved, the Governor who<lb></lb>
had just left the Chapel and was in the adjoining Room<lb></lb>
went to them and told them it was very improper Conduct<lb></lb>
in them to refuse to leave the Chapel but that if they had<lb></lb>
any thing to say if communicated to him in a proper <lb></lb>
manner he would hear them after they had returned<lb></lb>
to their respective Yards they all refused to return unless<lb></lb>
they were suffere'd to go into one Yard the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ172">Governor</rs>

finding them so obstinate sent to the Police Office<lb></lb>

to acquaint the Magistrates of the<lb></lb>
refractory proceedings of the Prisoners the Governor in<lb></lb>
the Interim thinking some of the Prisoners would<lb></lb>
return to their Cells directed the Turnkey's to open the<lb></lb>
Doors of the respective places in the Chapel that they who<lb></lb>
were inclined might go to their Cells when all the<lb></lb>
Prisoners quitted except Twenty seven Vizt. <rs type="persName" id="LMSMGO55611_n528-1">Stephen</rs>
