Resolved that this Court upon the Recommendation of the said
Committee do agree with the said Walter Hattam< no role > and William and Francis Kinman< no role > for
performing the Smiths Work and with the said William Hopcraft< no role > for the masow
Work upon the terms and at the Prices contained in their Reposals above stated who
being called in and agreeing thereto.

Resolved that proper Contracts be prepared for the purpose and be
entered into with them accordingly.

By Adjournment same day.

The Death of George Elliot< no role > the High Constable for the Tower division being
signified to the Court by the Clerk of the Peace and the following Petitions of
William Tovey< no role > and William Wright< no role > praying to be appointed Hight Constable in the
stead of the said George Elliot< no role > deceased being laid before the Court and read in
the following Words Vizt.

"To His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County for Middlesex in their
"General Quarter Session of the Peace assembled.

"The Petition of William Tovey< no role > of upper moor fields
"in the Parish of St Leonard Shoreditch Spring maker.

"Humbly Sheweth

That by the death of Mr George Elliot< no role > there is a Vacancy in the
"Office of High Constable for the Tower division in the said County and that your
"Petitioner has been advised to apply to Tour Workships to be appointed High
"Constable in his Room.

"That Your Petitioner has been an Inhabitant and Householder in
"Upper Moorfields St. Leonard Shoreditch upwards of Twenty Years, hath served
"the Office of Headborough many Years ago, has been four times on the Grand
"Inquest and is now one of the Constables of the said Parish and late one of the
"Collectors of the Parish Rates and is now one of the Tuestees of the said Parish
"and a Citizen and Liveryman of the Pewterers Company.

That Your Petitioner flatters himself the abovementioned
"Appointments will in some degree prove that he is not unworthy the Trust he new
"solicits, and should he be fortunate enough to meet with your Worships
"Approbation and be elected to the said Office he will endeavour by a faithful
"and humane execution of it to merit the Confidence reposed in him.
