<p n="186">from Midsummer 1725 to Christmas 1729 which Time the Accounts<lb></lb>
of the Treasurers were last past, it was found that the Money in hand and<lb></lb>
the Toll since Midsummer 1725 amounted to £479 out of which had been<lb></lb>
paid in part of Mrs Offley's Demand £22..8s..11d a further part of £20 that<lb></lb>
there had been laid out in repair within the said time £409..0s..6d of which<lb></lb>
there was still remaining due and unsatisfyed a Debt to Mr Brown<lb></lb>
the Paviour of £78..3s..0d that the Person employed by the said <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55606_occ110">Treasurer</rs>

had been allow'd a Salary of Twenty Pounds per Annum which for the<lb></lb>
Time aforesaid amounted to eighty eight Pounds eleven Shillings of which<lb></lb>
Sixty seven Pounds eleven Shillings had been only paid & there remained<lb></lb>
a Debt of twenty one Pounds due to the present Collector; that an Allowance<lb></lb>
of ten Pounds per Annum is charged in the Account for a Person called<lb></lb>
the Treasurers agent amounting for the Time aforesaid to Forty five Pounds<lb></lb>
of which thirty seven Pounds twelve Shillings & seven pence had only been<lb></lb>
paid seven Pounds seven Shillings and five Pence remaining therefore due<lb></lb>
to him; and that there was one guinea P Annum charged in the said<lb></lb>
Account as payable to the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55606_occ111">Clerk of the Peace</rs>

which was not satisfyed<lb></lb>
amounting to four Pounds fourteen Shillings and six pence so that there<lb></lb>
remained a Debt on the said Toll at Christmas then last of one hundred<lb></lb>
eleven Pounds four Shillings and eleven pence. And the said Comittee<lb></lb>
further Reported that upon finding so large a Debt on <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55606_geo181">the Haymarket</rs>

took into consideration not only what method might be taken for more<lb></lb>
effectually repairing the same for the future but also what had been the<lb></lb>
cause of its bad condition and the decrease of the Revenue and found that<lb></lb>
proper care had been wanting in preserving the limits and extent of the<lb></lb>

a easy exact manner as follows (vizt) "And for preventing all disputes<lb></lb>
"concerning the extent of the said Street Be it further enacted by the<lb></lb>
"Authority aforesaid. That it shall be construed to extend in Length from<lb></lb>
"the Old Toll Post at the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55606_geo183">upper End of the Haymarket</rs>
