Know all Men by those Presents That I William Jones< no role >
of the Parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the County of Middx
Gentl am held and firmly bound unto Thomas Lane< no role > Bartholomew
Hammond and George Garrett< no role > Esqrs . Justices of our Sovereign
Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace in the County of Middx
in £500 of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to the
said Thos. Lane< no role > Bartholomew Hammond< no role > & George Garrott< no role > or
to their Certain Attorney their Executors or Admtors To
Which Payment well and truly to be made I bind myself
my Heirs Extors & Admitors firmly by these Presents Sealed
with any Seal Dated the fourth Day of March in the Year
of our Lord 1761 And in the first Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain fraud
and Ireland Defender of the Faith.

Whereas the Office Place or Appointment of Keeper of the House
of Correction at Clerkenwell is now Vacant by the Death of Henry Walliam< no role >
Gentl late Keeper thereof And Whereas his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
assembled in General Session of the Peace last holden for the said County have
appointed the aboveboundm Wm. Jones< no role > to the Care and keeping of the said
House of Correction and of the Prisoners therein being & that may be committed
thereto until the next General Quarter Session of the Peace for the said
County And until a fit and proper Person shall be Elected to the Keeping
of the same House of Correction And Whereas at the General Session of
the Peace of our Lord the King holden for the County of Middx at Hicks
Hall is St. John Street in the County aforesaid by Adjournmt. On Friday
the 27th. day of Febry last Wm. Pentelow< no role > the Keeper of New Prison at
Clerkenwell was for certain Causes suspended by his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace there Assembled from his Place or Office of Keeper thereof
until further Order of His Majesty's said Justices And Whereas his
Majesty's said Justices have in the said Session appointed the above boundm
Wm Jones< no role > to the Care and keeping of the said Prison in the Stead and Place of
the sd. Wm. Pentelow< no role > during the Suspension of the sd. Wm. Pentelow< no role > And to
have receive and enjoy the Fees and Profitts from thence arisng Subject
nevertheless to the direction and superintendance of a Committee of His
Majesty's Justices of the Peace appointed by the said Court Now the
