Whereas by virtue of an Act of Parliament made in the<lb></lb>
twelfth year of the Reign of his present Majesty King George the<lb></lb>
Second Intituled An Act for the more easy assessing collecting and<lb></lb>
levying of County Rates, The <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55603_occ218">Justices of the Peace</rs>

in that part of<lb></lb>
Great Britain called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55603_geo218">England</rs>

within the respective Limits of their<lb></lb>
Commissions at their General or Quarter Sessions or the greater part<lb></lb>
of them then and there assembled have full Power and Authority<lb></lb>
from time to time to make one General Rate or Assessment for<lb></lb>
Such Sum or Sums of Money as the Justices in their Discretions<lb></lb>
Shall think Sufficient to answer all and every the Ends and Purposes<lb></lb>
mentioned in the Said Act, Now for as much as it appeareth<lb></lb>
unto this Court that three fourths of the Money of the last Rate made<lb></lb>
in January Session 1753 being the last preceding Rate hath been<lb></lb>
paid and expended to answer the Ends and Purposes mentioned in<lb></lb>
the Said Act of Parliament, And it is necessary that a Considerable<lb></lb>
Sum of Money Should be raised and a Rate made upon the Towns</p>
