Whereas a Presentment was made by the Grand Jury
for the County of Middx unto the Court of General
Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden at Hicks Hall
in St. John Street in and for the said County by
adjornment on the sixth day of April in the Seventeenth
year of his present Majesties Reign That such part
of a certain Publick Bridge called Chertsea Bridge
as is in the same County (which part of the same
Bridge hath been heretofore usually rebuilt repaired
and maintained at the Charge of the Inhabitants of
the same County) is very much out of Repair
And that it is necessary that the aforesaid part of
the same Bridge should be forthwith repaired or
new built And that at a Court of the General Quarter
Session of the Peace held for the County of Middx
at Hicks Hall in St. John Street by adjornment
on Friday the sixth day of April in the Seventeenth
year of his present Majesty's Reign It was then Ordered
that the said part of the said Bridge should be
forthwith repaired at the Costs and Charges of the
Inhabitants of this County And it now appearing
to this Court that the said part of the said Bridge
called Chertsea Bridge has been Contracted for by
the Justices of the Peace of this County for the repairation
of the same And that a great part of the Works
has been carried on and Compleated in a good and
work in alike manner And that there are Several Sums
of Money one and owing for Timber Iron Lead Etc
And to Several Workmen for the Several Works
already done and to be done to compleat and finish
the same And it also appearing to this Court that three
fourths of the Money of the last Rate made in April
Sessions last being the preceeding Rate had been paid
and expended to answer the Ends and Purposes mentioned
