The Information of George Dean< no role > of Crown [..] Street
Moorfield in the County of Middlesex Smith Taken this
10th. day of January 1789

Saith that he hath known the Prisoner John Griffiths< no role > about seven or Eight
Months that he called upon him at his House in Crown Street and shewed him
severall Paris of Brass Hinges which he asked Informant to Buy of him
that Informant sayd that they would not sent him upon which [..] th
Prisoner went away that soon afterward he came again and offered something
for Sale which Informant bought of him but what the Articles were he due
not recollect that the Third Time of his coming was [..] some time during the drawing
of the last English Lottery that he then brought three or four Elephants Teeth which
he [..] told him he had [..] to sole for a Friend and that
if Informant would dispose of them for him he would give him he & of what
they produced that he accordingly soon after sold them to Mr. Field of Hounsditch
a Combemaker for three Shillings [..] a Pound that when he received the
Money of Mr. Field he paid the one half to the Prisoner at his own House
that the Prisoner at several other Times brought him Pieces of Ivory for to
sell upon the same Term as the former all of which he sold to Mr. Field
that the Piece Ivory now produced he verily believes to be one of there he
received of the Prisoner and sold to Mr. Field That the first time of his coming
to him he did not know who he was nor with whom he lived nor did he
know at the time of his receiving from him the Elephants Teeth.-That the Prisoner
asked him of he could sole for him some Rose Wood and King's Wood which
Informant declined doing alledging that he did not deal in such Article
That he has at different times bought of the Prisoner several Brass Castor
and Hinge part of which [..] were in his Possession at the time his House
was searched by Mr. Cullford and taken away by him That the Brass Locks
Plated Castors, Glue and Bee Way that were also found in his House
