Defendant Maketh Oath and Saith That on Monday
last he this Deponent Mett Mr. John Ingham< no role >
Sollicitor
for the Prosecutor in Cliffords Inn
when the said Mr.
Ingham Acknowledged that he had received such
Notice of Tryal in this matter for this Sessions and
that he had seen the Prosecutor and that if this
Deponent would give him two Guineas; and the said
Mr. Ingham one Guineas for his Costs in this Business
there should be an End to the same to which this
Deponent replied he could not Agree to any such
Terms as the Defendants had been put to Cost enough
already but that they would Appear and take their
Tryal [..] at the Adjourned day held yesterday to which
the said Mr. Ingham replied this Deponent might get
through the Business as Well as he could for that he
or the Prosecutor would not Attend upon such Notice
given and that this Deponent might find out the
Prosecutor
to personally Serve him with Notice of Tryal
as this Deponent could or to that or the like Effect
And this Deponent further Saith That last Night he again
saw the said Mr. Ingham at the Masters Office
the Kings Bench Office when the said Mr. Ingham
asked this Deponent whether this matter had come on
to which this Deponent replied it had not but that
it stood Adjourned for this Day when the Defendants
would appear to take their Tryals there or to that Effect
