Ledwick's Bail

A Man of Considerable Property Owner of the Temple Exchange
Coffee house No. 22 Fleet Street which he lives in but late the
the Business, Has been many Years Common Council man
of Cordwainers & Bread Street Ward Sheriffs Broker 15 Years &
Broker for the Corporation of London

Mr Lyons


An Atty in good Practiced of Unim peached Character
Case

Ledwick brot. an Action agt. the Pros or Gill for his Bill of Costs
Gill neglected to put in Bail & Ledwick took an Assmt. of the Bail
Bond & sued the BailGill made a long Afft. to stop proceedings
which Ledwick Answd. & contradicted every thing stated in Gills Afft.
whilst his Own was Corroborated in every Material instance by Psons
aquainted with the Circumstances The Court dischd. the Rule but let
Gill into Trial The Bail Bond standing as a Security

The Persons who join'd Ledwick in the Afft. & who are all of respectable Character & Connection were subpoenad &
attended the Court on the TrialGill made no defence nor did any of
the People who joind his Afft. make their Appearance The Recorder
is aquainted with the whole of the Facts for he was Gills Council
throughout

Mr Ledwick has now a Judgmt. agt. Gill for £50..10 for
wch his Bail are Liable

It is evident the Object of Mr Gill & his Solr. is to compel Ledwick
to Terms & give up his right to avoid the disgrace that must attend the
most Honble aquittal for sch an Offence as PerjuryThe rigour they are
pursuing & their Objecting to two sch Bail as Mr Peart & Mr Lyons can
proceed from no other motives & it is too apparent the Bail are accomplices
in this Iniquitous conspiracy in hopes to get him to sign Genl. releases or
to settle with them or their our Terms

Mr Weldons Character is to well known to comment on he is the adviser
