Gentleman
Maketh Oath and saith, that as to the neglect of his
appearing according to the Recognizance referred to in
the annexd Notice, the same was not caused by
any desire to occasion the Discharge of the Prisoner
or to prevent his Conviction of from any other
corrupt Motive whatever, but was merely owing
to his Ignorance in the Business, he having
attended at the Sessions House for the County of
Middlesex
to fixed a Bill at the said Sessions
of December last, thinking that the proper Court
to apply to on the Occasion
And this Deponent further
saith that he was informed by Mr. Kinley
the Principal Clerk at the Sessions House
on Clerkenwell Green
that he should have
applied to the Grand Jury, at the Old Bailey
And this Deponent farther
saith, that he accordingly applied at the
Old Bailey
, but the Grand Jury was broke
up
