Who being upon his Corporal Oath Voluntarily Confesseth and saith
That on Wednesday Morning last about the Hour of 9 oClock as he was sitting
in Company with one James Houghton< no role >
who goes by the name of Daphne
and Henry Gray< no role >
who goes by the name of Old Robin Gray at the Marquis
of Granby Alehouse in Chick lane
when One Joseph George< no role >
who goes
by the name Porteguese George< no role >
came into the said house and Wispering
to a Woman who was standing in the Tap Room said some Gold was
lying on a Desk n a Counting house Corner Fleet street
Close by the Window
and that it might be taken but he must have somebody to assist him That
the said James Houghton< no role >
was going out with the said Joseph George< no role >

said They should not go alone for that he would
be in it Upon which it was agreed That they should all go together
That this Informant and Henry Gray< no role >

all went together to the House of Mr. William Wright< no role >

That the

Pointed to the Counting house of the said William
Wright and On the Desk were a Pile if Guineas and a Pile of
half Guineas That it was intended to have went into the house
to have Taken the Money But the said James Houghton< no role >
said it
could not be taken safely That then Houghton went to the Window
of the Counting house and This Examinant and Gray and George
stood at some little Distance That Houghton lifted up the Sash a
Window and Put One hand in First and took the Pile of Guineas Then put
in his other hand and took out the Pile of half Guineas and then Ran away
and this Examinant and Gray and George Ran< no role >
after him and in half an
hour afterwards they All Met together at a Public House in Chick lane
and shared the money That Houghton produced 22 or 23 Guineas
which was Divided between this Examinant Gray and George and
Houghton each of them Receiving 5 Guineas and an half That there
there was a Dispute about an Odd Guinea which Houghton claimed
for doing the business but George said to Ought to have such Guinea
for Giving the Informant And this Examinant Saith that he
makes this Confession Freely and Voluntarily And without any
manner of Campulsion whatsoever And this Examinant Lastly
saith That a Person now in Custody and who says his Name is
