London Brushmaker , John Puckeridge< no role > Son & Apprentice of
Thomas Puckeridge< no role > of Cow Lane London Watch maker
James Clarke< no role > of Snow Hill London Cheesemonger , and
Richard Rock< no role > Servant to the said James Clarke< no role > Who
being on Oath severally say as follows and first this
Informant William Saunders< no role > for himself saith that
last Night about Eight O'Clock in ye Evening he observed
CharlesAllenGriffith< no role > one of the prisoners now under
Examination leaning against the side of the Door of
Informant James Clarke< no role > 's Shop, the other prisoner Samuel
Taylor was then on the Opposite side of the Street
that prisoner Griffith want over to speak to Taylor &
returned again Josh. Clacke's Door and there stolethea
Price of Cheskire Cheese which he carried over the way
to the prisoner Taylor, they went together to a pitching
Black in an Alley nearly opposite to sd Clacke's House< no role >
and one of them put the Cheese upon the Polock
and staid a few Minutes, then Taylor took it off the Block
and put it into his apron and then put the Flaps of his to at
ever it with Intent as it appeared to him the better to
conual the Bulk in his Apron, and then he and
prisoner Griffith walk< no role > 'd down Snow Hill together
then this Informant went and informed said Clarke and he
Clarke and his servant Rock went in present of them
and he saw Rock stop them and this Informant John
Puckeridge for himself saith that he was present with
the Informant Saunders and Knows every thing that has
been related by him to be true, and this Informant James
Clarke for himself saith that being informed by Saunders
of a Piece of Cheese being stolen from his Door, he and
Rock want down Snow Hill together with Saunders that
Saunders pointed out the two prisoners Griffith & Taylor as
the person who had stolen the Clearse, upon which
this Informant and Rock secured both the said prisoners
and when so secured one of them dropt the Cheese now
