1 REBECCA Abrahams< no role > , committed by D. Wilmot, Esq. on oath of
Abraham Davis< no role > , on suspicion of stealing in the City of London a
surtout cloth coat, a child's jam, 3 books, Etc. his property.
Dated July 30, 1778.

2 Elizabeth Davis< no role > , committed by J. Sherwood, Esq: on oath of Marshal
Smirk, for stealing 15 guineas his property. Dated Aug. 7, 1778.

3 John Farmer< no role > , otherwise Jonathan Whitten< no role > , brought by habeas corpus from
Surry , August 8, 1778, charged in the return thereto, on oath of James
Jones
< no role > , on suspicion of burglariously breaking open the dwelling-house
of the said James Jones< no role > at Chelsea , in the county of Middlesex , and
stealing 7 earthen bowls, and 1 wood cask containing about 4 Gallons
of Geneva.

Also charged, on oath of Henry Medden< no role > , for feloniously breaking and
entering the work-shop of Richard Dickson< no role > at Pimlico , in the county of
Middlesex , and stealing certain carpenters tools, the property of the said
Henry Medden< no role > .

The said John Farmer< no role > , otherwise Jonathan Whitten, stands convicted at the
last assizes holden for the county of Surry, of stealing goods the property
of Thomas Price< no role > ; and ordered and adjudged to be kept to hard labour
for the term of 3 years, in raising sand, soil and gravel from, and cleans-
ing the river Thames , Etc.

4 Alice Haynes< no role > , brought by habeas corpus from the New Gaol, Surry ,
August 8, 1778, charged in the return thereto as accessary after the fact
in certain felonies and foot pad robberies committed by Joseph Saul< no role > and
others in the counties of Middlesex and Surry, by harbouring and enter-
taining them after the said felonies were committed, and being present
when the stolen goods were sold, she being admitted an evidence in his
Majesty' s behalf against the said Joseph Saul< no role > and others in the said felonies.

And also against Grace Kingsford< no role > , for feloniously receiving goods, know-
ing them to be stolen, in the county of Middlesex .

5 Thomas Condon< no role > , brought by habeas corpus from the county of Essex ,
August 8, 1778, charged in the return thereto with having, at the session
of gaol delivery of Newgate holden for the county of Middlesex on the
29th day of April last, been attainted of felony and burglary, and re-
ceived judgment of death; and by warrant under the hand and seal of
the Right Honble Viscount Weymouth, one of his Majesty's principal
secretaries of state, dated July 24, 1778, respited during his Majesty's
pleasure: And standing charged with felony and burglary in the county
of Essex at the session of gaol delivery for the county of Middlesex
holden July 15, 1778, was ordered to be sent to the common gaol of the
said county of Essex. And that at the assizes and general gaol delivery
held at Chelmsford, in the said county, on the 5th day of August, 1778,
being acquitted of felony and burglary, but standing attainted of felony
and burglary in the county of Middlesex, and also under a respite for the
said offence during his Majesty's pleasurewas by the Court then and
there ordered to be safely conveyed to the common gaol of the said county
of Middlesex .
