that their Informant waited on Mr. Stephenson punctually to
the time appointed, but prior to his meeting the said Mr.
Stephenson he this Informant saw the prisoner Flint and
told him then was some Dispute about these Stones Flint
declared three would be no Dispute for that he had had
them from abroad, on which he requested Flint to go
along witt him, to which he consented but going along
he appeared to be confused a little and said he wished
be their Informant had not carried them to the places to
which he replied that it was a good shop, and that he
durit say that his (Flint) was not affraid to go & [..]
town his own Goods to which Flint said he was not
he this Informant added he made no doubt but that they
were his stones-he the said Flint in goingandLesitated
& said "dammit, had you not better say you bought these
Stones of some Jews on Change for me? on which he this
Informant was greatly alarmed beginning then and not
before to suspect that these as well as the other
Diamonds he had sold for Flint had not been honestly
come by which he then told Flint, who replied "yes you
Fool they are" but denied he might not go in to Mr. Stephenson
with this Informant but agreed to wait to be sent for at the
Delphn [..] Alehouse just by; upon which he this Informant
went by himself to Mr. Stephenson, where Mr. Wm. Cox< no role > was
who ask'd this Informant upon whom he had these Stones, he
immediately told him that be had them from Mr. Flint &
that he was then at the [..] Alehouse, that Mr. Paine
the Constable [..] rectly went after him, and whilst pain
was out Flint went by Mr. Stephenson's Shop, in a smart
remiang pace, and Mr. Stephenson's Shopman followed
him and brought him backIn being brought in Cox
said Mr. Flint are not you a Pretty Fellow, for what, Flint
applied, cox answered about these stones-Flint said they
are mine, I had them from abroad, and then produced a
Letter-and acknowledged ledged [..] that he employed this
Informant only as a Brother to sell them for him-says
he has reced no money from Flint, that he expected seventh
Cont. [..] and understood he was to be paid when these two
Stones were sold & the money reced for them
