To the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of the City of
London and the Rest of the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the said City in the their General Quarter
Session of the Peace assembled.

The humble Petition and appeal of John
Lamb
< no role > an Inhabitant of the Parish of Saint Andrew
Holborn London.

Sheweth.


That by a certain Taxation Rate or Assessment lately made by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Andrew
Holborn in the City of London and County of Middlesex or the greatest Part of them
for the Relief of the Poor of that Part of the said Parish which lies in the City
of London and Ward of Farringdon without in the said City from the Twenty
fourth Day of June last to the End of three Months Your Petitioner is taxed
and Assessed towards the said Relief in the Sum of Thirteen Shilling 1 & 6
for and in Respect of his Dwelling House.

That Your Petitioner apprehends himself to be aggrieved by the said
Taxation Rate or Assessment and to be illegally and unequally taxed and
Assesed thereby and therefore humbly appeals to this Honourable Court
against the same and prays Relief in the Premises and that the said
Taxation Rate or Assessment may be quashed or that the same may be
amended in Respect of Your Petitioner as to this Honourable Court shall
seem most meet.
