The Humble Petition and Appeal of
Reginald Dennison< no role >
for and on the behalf of the
Master Wardens and society of the art and
Mistery of Apothecaries of the City of London
Sheweth
That on or about the 17th. day of June last the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Ann
Black Fryars
London Did make an Assessment on the Inhabitants of the said
parish for the Necessary relief of the poor thereof for one Quarter
of a Year commencing at Easter Day last
That in and by such Rate or Assessment Your
Petitioner is rated at the sum of three Pounds sixteen
Shillings and six pence for the Hall belonging to the said
Master Wardens and society and also at the Sum of Five pounds
six Shillings and three pence for the Capital stock employed
in Trade carried on in the Name of the said society for the
benefit of several of the Members thereof
That your Petitioner Apprehending the said Assessment
to be illegal and unequal and finding himself or the said
Society aggrieved thereby Doth appeal to this Court against the
same and humbly prays that he may be heard by Counsel
against the said Assessment and that the same so far as it
respects the Hall and Capital Stock of the said society may be
Quashed or that your Petitioner may have such other relief
as to your Worships shall seem meet and that you Will be
pleased to appoint a Day for the Traverse and Determining
of his said Appeal
And Your Petitioner will ever Pray Etc
