The Information of John Sherburd< no role > of the Ducking
Pond Mile End. Labourer taken before me this 6th.
day of Janry. 1773 .

Who being upon Oath says that he knows George Armstrong< no role > Robert
Armstrong
< no role > and William Cotterell< no role > now present, Says that on Sunday
the 27th. of Decemr. last about 10 oClock in the morning the said George
Armstrong came to this Informants house aforesaid and asked there Informant
whether he wanted any Silk Handkerchiefs, for that he had got a great
Quantity to sell, this Informant answered if he would bring him a
sample to look at he would deal with him, says that about on Hour
afterwards the said George Armstrong< no role > brought this Informant four Pieces
of Silk Handkerchiefs for which this Informant offered him twenty four
shillings for each Piece, but the said Armstrong answered that provided
this Informant would Purchase a Quantity, he should have them at
a Guinea a Piece, which this Informant consented to Says that the
said George Armstrong< no role > then went and brought this Informant Eight
pieces mores then this Informant asked him how he came by them,
that the said George Armstrong< no role > answered he had taken them out of the
India Warehouse in London hall street near the Leather Market and that his
Brother Robert Armstrong< no role > and the said William Cotterall< no role > were concerned
in the Robbery with him, and no one Else whatsoever, that the said
George Armstrong< no role > said it had cost him Ten pounds to make the
Key which he made use of to get into the said Warehouse. That
this Informant told the said Armstrong he was fearful and did not
choose to Purchase them, that the said Armstrong answered that as
this Informant dealt so much in Handkerchiefs he did not know a
Man in the World had so great an Opportunity of Disposing of
