Thomas Elsley< no role > of Charles Court in the Strand in the County of Middlesex
Waterman maketh Oath and saith that on the twenty seventh Day of March last
he this Deponent was bound by Recognizance in the Sum of Ten pounds
to appear at the Session held for the City of London in the Month of April last
past to give Evidence against Henry Whitebread< no role > for Felony
And this Deponent Saith that having been for some time past affliated
with a Lareness and Lameness in his left Leg and having after he was so
bound by Recognizance met with a new hurt on his said Leg which
rendered him unable to Walk and the same becoming a very dangerous
wound he applied to one of the Governors of Saint George's Hospital and
reced an Order to be admitted a Patient in the said Hospital And
this Deponent saith that on the Fourth Day of April last past he was
carried to the said Hospital in the Common Manner and was put under
the Care of the Surgeons there for his said wound and that he continued in
the said Hospital until the Month of July last without having been for the space
of two Monthsthennext following the said fourth day of April last able to go out of the said Hospital
unless at the Hazard of having his Leg cut off as the Surgeons
Informed this Deponent and this Deponent saith that by reason of
being so confined in the said Hospital for the Cure of such wound he was
rendered to tally unable to appear as the said Sessions which was held
for the said City on Wednesday the Twenty ninth Day of April last to
to give Evidence against the said Henry Whitebread< no role >
and lastly this Deponent saith he is not worth Twenty Shillings
