this Examinant with Intention to go on Board said Ship went to Port Royal, but that<lb></lb>
the said Ship being not there in readyness, and this Examinant having received<lb></lb>
Information that pursuit was making after him, went on Board asleep at Port<lb></lb>
Royal Harbour bound for Port Morant which place this Examinant then<lb></lb>
understood to be in one of the Windward Islands that he carried with him the<lb></lb>
said Trunk with the residue of the said money<del>and money</del>
and he Trusted the same to the care of the Captain<lb></lb>
of said Sleep whilst this Examinant concealed himself<del>between the Deck of<lb></lb>
said sleep</del>
in the Hould of the said Sleep, that some time Afterwards in the same<lb></lb>
Evening this Examinant was taken into Custody on Board the said Sleep by the<lb></lb>
Gunner of the Fort at Port Royal and the said Trunk was delivered by the<lb></lb>
Captain of said Sleep to the said Gunner. And this Examinant Saith, that at the<lb></lb>
time he delivered said Trunk to the care and Charge of said Captain the same was<lb></lb>
Fastned with a Lock but at the time this Examinant said the same at the Gunner's<lb></lb>
Room the Nails that Fastned the lock of said Trunk had been wrenck'd out and<lb></lb>
the Bags of money taken therefrom, And this Examinant saith, that the two Bags of<lb></lb>
