the Defendant maketh Oath that he has
made diligent search and Inquiry at several places in Wapping
in the
County of Middlesex
after Elias Angle where this Deponent was
Informed he lived and he also Inquired at the place where
this Deponent was Informed he was before found to be Served
with a Subpena and was there told upon such Inquiry that they
could not give this Deponent any Information about him not
knowing where he was, and who is material Witness for this
Defendant in the Defenceprosecutionof this Indictment and without
whose Testimoney this Deponent can't as he is advised safely
go to Tryal And this Deponent further saith that the verily believes
the said Elias Angle< no role >
keeps out of the way to prevent his being
Served with a Subpena to attend the said Tryal, tho' he was
Subpena'd and did attend the last Sessions on the said
Indictment And this Deponent further saith that he has
not been able to find out the said Elias Angle< no role >
altho' he has
used his utmost endeavours so to do as aforesaid And
this Deponent saith that he will do his utmost to get
the said Elias Angle< no role >
Served with a Subpena to attend the
Tryal of the said Indictment at the next Sessions of the
peace to be held at Justice Hall in the Old Baily
in and for
the City of London
