one of the above Defendts. maketh Oath that he hath for these

Twelve years last past lived a very unhappy life through the in bahaviour of the

said Catherine and her perverse & refractory Temper and on or about the Sixth day

of January One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty Eight the said Catherine made

a Bason of Tea as usual for his Breakfast which he took up in Order to Drink &

finding it to have an add taste there it behind the Fire & asked what she had put

in who replyed nothing but being very much urged to know she said Love powder

some short time after as this Dept. hath been Informed & beleives) this Depts. Servt.

maid & the said Prosecutrix having some words at one Mr. Matthews a relation of

the Prosecutrix the maid told her that she the said Prosecutrix had Attempted to Poyson

her Master (meaning this Dept.) but he did not take the Powder upon which the said

lb

Matthews sent for this Dept. & acquainted his thereof And this Dept. verify beleives
<

lb

the said Prosecutrix intended to Poyson this Dept. or do him some bodily Injury And this
<
lb

lb
>
Dept. further saith that the being very uneasy in his mind to come at the Truth thereof
<

</
lb
>
& Stiring therein the said prosecutrix on the Thirtyeth day of the same Month of January
<

</
lb
>
deserted the House of this Dept. & that he hath paid & allowed and caused to be paid and
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
allowed unto the said prosecutrix a sufficient seperate maintenance to the time of the
<

>
</
lb
>
prosecution of this Indictment & since hath agreed to pay for her board And that she
<
lb

lb
>
in the Month of June last came into a House where this Dept. was on business in a
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
furious rage Seized him by the Collar a swore she would kill him & diverse times in
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
the months of August September & October last caused a Mob to the Amount of Three
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
or four hundred people to Assemble in a riotous & tumultuous manner before the Door
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
of this Depts. house for several hours & with Mudd Brick Batts & Stones she the said
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Prosecutrix broke the Windows of this Depts. House several times & She or Some other
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Person unknow to this Dept. threatned to sett his House on Fire And the said Prosecutrix
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
also several times when she hath seen him in the Street threw Mud bricks & Stones at this
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Dept. came into his house Seized him by the Kollar took a large Iron Pin of a Window
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Broke a Glass Lanthorn in the Passage & Struck at this Dept. with the Iron Pin & Swore
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
she would kill or be killed & all the time cryed out Murder while this Dept. was
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
endeavouring to get the Iron Pin from her And this Dept. further saith that the said
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Prosecutrix still veces revenge & swears with bitter Imprevations that this Dept. Shall not
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
live & that she with have in a Goal & that he cannot rest in his house or stir out of
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Doors to do his lawfull business without fear of meeting the said prosecutrix & being in
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
Danger of looseing his life or receiving some Bodily hurt and that she the said Prosecutrix
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
or some other person or persons unknown to this Dept. are daily Annoying of this Dept.
<

>
</
lb
>
by knocking at his Door three or four times a day playing filth a this Door And that
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
on the Thirteenth day of January last past this Dept. found a considerable Quantity of
<

>
</
lb
>
Dry shaw concealed under a Bulk at this Depts. Door in order as this Dept. verily beleives
<
lb
>
</
lb
>
with intent to watch some convenient Opportunity to sett it on Fire & burn this Dept.

>
house as aforesaid And this Dept. further Saith that he hath been a Parishioner of the
