London andthe Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of theParish of
Precinct of Bridewell London

Whereas Complaint hath been made unto Us two of
His Majesties Justices of the Peace for this City and the
Liberties thereof one being of the Quorum by the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Botolph
London That
William Staples< no role > Elizabeth< no role > his wife and their three Children
Hannah< no role > aged Ten years Elizabeth< no role > aged Six years and
Johnson< no role > aged one year are
lately come to reside in your said Parish not having obtaind any
Legal Settlement there and are likely to become chargeable
thereto unless timely prevented Which Complaint We judge to
be true and for as much as it appears unto Us by the Oath of
the said William Staples< no role > and other Circumstances that
his last legal Settlement is in the said Precinct of
Bridewell
And no other Subsequent Settlement appearing unto Us We the
Said Justices are of opinion and do Adjudge the last Legal
Settlement of the said William Staples with his Wife
and three Children
to be in the saidParish ofPrecinct of Bridewell
And that thitherto they ought by Law
to be sent

These are therefore in his Majesties Name to Will and
Require You the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of
the said Parish of Saint Botolph
London forthwith to Remove and Convey the said
William Staples< no role > with his Wife and their three Children
from and out of your said Parish unto the saidParish of
Precinct of Bridewell
And them deliver unto the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor there or one of them Who is and are hereby required
to Receive and provide for them according to Law Given
under our hands and Seals this 14thday of July
one Thousand Seven hundred and Fifty five
