This Indenture made the Twelfth day of October in the
Seventeenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the
Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith
and so forth and in the Year of our Lord 1743 Witnesseth that James Reynolds< no role >
and John Dutton< no role > Church Wardens of the parish of Saint James Clerkenwell
in the County of Middlesex and Christian Titus< no role > Benjamin Ashby< no role > Peter Snow< no role > and Caleb Blake< no role > Overseers of the poor of the said Parish by and with
the Consent of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County whose
Names are hereunto Subscribed have put and placed and by these presents
do put and place Sarah Booth< no role > a poor Child of the said parish Apprentice to
Ann Morgan< no role > of the Parish of St. Andrew Holbourne in London with her
to dwell and Serve from the day of the Date of these presents until the
said Apprentice shall accomplish her full Age of Twenty One Years
according to the Statute in that Case made and provided During all which
Term the said Apprentice her said Mistress faithfully shall serve in all
Carefull Businesses according to her power, Wit, and Ability; and honestly,
Orderly and obediently in all things demean and behave herself towards
her said Mistress and hers during the said Term And the said Ann Morgan< no role >
for herself her Executors and Administrators doth Covenant and Grant to
and with the said Church Wardens and Overseers and every of them their and
every of their Executors and Administrators and their and every of their transports
for the time being by these presents, That the said Sarah Booth< no role > the said Apprentice
in her Art Trade and Mistery that she now Useth shall teach or Instruct or cause
to be Taught or Instructed and shall and will during all the Term aforesaid find
provide and allow unto the said Apprentice, meet, Competent and Sufficient Meat
Drink Apparel Lodging Washing and all other things Necessary and fit for an
Apprentice: And also shall and will so provide for the said Apprentice that she
be not any way a Charge to the said Parish or Parishoners of the same but of and
from all Charge shall and will save the save the said Parish and Parishoners
harmless and indempnify'd during the said Term: And at the End of the said Term
[..] and will Make and provide all no and deliver unto the said Apprentice double
Apparel of all sorts good and new (that is to say) a good New Suit for the Holidays
and another for the Working days In Witness whereof the parties abovesaid to there
present Indentures interchangeably have set their Hands and Seals the Day
and Year first abovewritten.
