Whereas Several Disputes and Differences have arisen and are depending between the
Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Allhallows Barkin London And Richard
Lechmere John Lateward< no role > Thomas Dinely and others Farmers of Brewers-Key Chester-Key Galley-Key
Wool-Key Custom-house Key Globe Yard Tower Inn and Richardsons House All scituate within the said
Parish for and concerning the Rates to the Church and Poor of the said Parish and how much of the
said Rates the said Farmers and Wharfingers ought to pay Now for accomodating the said
Differences and ascertaining the Proportions which the said Farmers and Wharfingers shall pay towards
the said Rates It is agreed by and between Samuel Tilie< no role > and Slings by Bethell< no role > the present Church-wardens
of the said parish And Benjamin LLoyd< no role > John Coleman< no role > William Stephens< no role > and Edward Rivett< no role > the Present
Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish duly Authorized by an Order of Vestry made the twenty eighth
day of May One Thousand seven hundred and thirty three And the said Richard Lechmere< no role > John
Lateward and Thomas Dineley< no role > on the behalf of themselves and the other Farmers and Wharfingers
of the said several Wharf Keys and Ware houses as followeth to witt That the said Farmers and
Wharfingers shall and will forthwith pay one seventh part of the total amount of all rates made
of and for the said Parish either to Church or Poor Since Lady day One thousand Seven hundred and thirty
One deducting what hath been by them paid to the several Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish in Part or one Account thereof which said seventh part is agreed to be accepted and
taken in full discharge of all and every Summand Summs of money charged upon the said Farmers and
Wharfingers in or by every such Rates made Since that time And it is further agreed that for the
time to come the said Farmers and Wharfingers for and in respect of the said several Wharfs Keys
Ware houses and Houses which they now possess and enjoy within the said Parish during such time as
they shall occupy or possess the whole thereof shall be charged only one seventh part of the said Rates
(including what shall be so charged upon the said Farmers and Wharfingers) and which said seventh
part the said Farmers and Wharfingers agree to pay Provided and it is agreed That if the said
Farmers and Wharfingers shall at any time hereafter quitt or leave [..] or occupy any
of the said Wharfingers or Ware houses that then in all Rates thereafter to be made in or for the said
Parish either to Church or Poor the said Farmers and Wharfingers shall be abated such a proporconable
part of the said Seventh part as such Wharts Keys or Ware houses Which they Shall cease to rent or occupy
shall be in Value to the other Wharfs Keys and Ware houses they shall continue to rent or occupy
And in like manner if the said Farmers and Wharfingers shall at any time hereafter hire tooke or
Possess any other Wharfs Keys or Ware houses in the said parish than they now enjoy or Shall convert
and use any more or other Houses in the said Parish into Ware houses that then the said Farmers and
Wharfingers shall be charged and pay and be increased as much as Such Houses which shall be so taken
in now pay And it is further agreed that all proceedings at Law about the said Rates shall cease and
each party bear their own respective Costs and Charges And lastly it is agreed by all the said
Parties hereunto that the abovesaid Agreement be made a Rule of Court of Quarter Sessions
Witness the hands of the said Partys the three and twentieth Day of June One Thousand Seven
Hundred and thirty three
