To the Right Honble. John Barber< no role >
Esqr
. Lord
Mayor
of the City of London
and to the Worshipful
his Majestys Justices of the peace
for the said
City in their General Quarter Sessions of the
Peace Assembled.
The Humble Petition and Appeal
of the Master and Wardens of the
Fraternity of the Art or Mistery of
Haberdashers in the City of London
Sheweth
That your Petitioners Common Hall is scituate in
the Parish of St. Mary Staining
London part of which
Hall your Petitioners have appropriated to the use of dwelling
Houses for their Clerk & Beadles and are known reputed and
taken to be the property of your Petitioners and the Taxes for
the same have been paid by your Petitioners. That a Rate
now made by the Churchwardens and overseers of the poor of
the said parish for the Relief of the poor is very unequall
by which your Petitioners conceive they are aggrieved and
over rated in proportion to
John Hall Foxall< no role >
Isaac Sierra< no role >
and others of the Inhabitants of the said
Parish
Therefore your Petitioners humbly
appeal to this Court for such Relief as
to this Court shall seem meet.
