The Information of Richd. Hughes< no role > Watchman taken upon oath before me the
day & Year herein before mention'd

This Informt. saith yt. about one of the Clock on Monday Morning last one Mr. Carroll & another
Gentleman Call'd out Watch, & on this Informts. going to him Mr. Carroll said You must fetch
another because he wanted two Witnesses, & when this Informt. was Returnd, the sd. Mr.
Carroll Searcht his Chambers & Pulld out his Clothes in ye Drawers, where was a pair
of Ear Rings, wch the Woman than Prsent Own'd & Whilst the sd. Mr. Carroll was making
further Search the sd. Woman Pusht this Informt. aside saying yt. she wanted to speak
with Mr. Carroll in private, & after being together about two Minister, the sd. Mr. Carroll
declar'd yt. she had Ownd the pawning of some of his Waistcoats for two Guineas, upon
wch he saidwe ought this Informt. ought to Secure, her but did not take Charge of her, whereupon
She went about her Business, Some short time after the sd. Mr. Carroll & the other Gent
same & askt for the Woman Upon this Informts. Saying yt she was gone, the sd. Mr Carroll
made answer that she must be found out, And after some short time found her Sitting
between two Watchman in ye. Temple & being brot. down to the sd Mr. Carroll was there
Interregated by him about the Tankard, she Confessd that it was given to her by her
Mother, And being further askt about an old Gown & some Linnen, the sd. Woman
declard yt. the Linnen was not fit for Men to soe, but upon this Informts. opening ye saw
afterwds. in the Watchhouse before the Constable there was found a bloody Stuft & an
Apron all over bloody.
