made the 23th. of Febry 1729 on the behalfe of
the Church Wardens & overseers of the pish
of St. Martins Ludgate under the hands &
Seals of Sr. Richard Brocas< no role > Knts . Lord Mayor
& Sr . Wm. Humphryes< no role > Knt . in relacon to a Female
Ballard Child born in the said pish of St.
Martins Ludgate on ye. 13th of Jany 1729
on the body of Martha Hollowell< no role > als Holloway< no role >

First

For that the Said Martha by two Several Exaiacons
taken before St. Wm. Billers< no role > Possitive by Swears
that the Appellt: has Carnall Knowledge of
her Body in Febry 1728 & that be was the
Sole Father of the said Child Whereas it
Plainly appears that the Said Female Bastard
Child was not born till the 13th: of Janry last
wch. is abt Eleven Months Therefore he appaellt
humbly Insists that he Cannot be that Putatue
Father thereof and for that reason appeales
agt. the same

For that by the said adjudicacon the Appellant
in order to pay to the said Church Warden and
Overseers of the Said Parish £7:19s:10d for the
said parishes Expences, only from the 13th. of
Janry to ye 23th: of Febry following, over and,
above 2:6 & week, so long the said Female
Bastard Child Should remain Chargeable
to the said Parish, which the Appellant
humbly Conceives to be a very great ever charge
upon him And therefore appeales agts the same
